This is primarily a Roman Rite, invoking Janus and Mercury, however it is multi-valent, thanking all the beings you engaged with over the past year. Janus is the god of beginnings, gates, transitions, time, duality, doorways, passages, frames, and endings. He is usually depicted as having a double-sided head. The month of January is named for Janus (Ianuarius). Janus shares commonalities with Portunus, God of ports and portals.
